Clothing and footwear

The clothing industry is one of the most dynamic industry which is concentrated outside of western Europe and America. The Multi Fibre Arrangement (MFA) that was abolished in 2005 governed the world trade in textiles and garments, imposing quotas on the amount developing countries could export to developed countries. The abolition MFA opened the gates for outsourcing production to low wage countries like China, India, Sri lanka and Bangladesh. Many treaties like ILO were put into practice to protect the interests of the developing economies.
